baby weight be gone: the reviews

May 12, 2012

I fear the game of life has taken over blogging once again and I have been sorely neglecting my babyweightbegone updates!

I’ve been on my bottomtighteningquest for a tiring yet toning 4 months and I’m over the moon to report that I can now comfortably fit into my pre-preggie jeans!

and I’m only 1 belt hole away from having my flat tummy back!

I thought I’d share my thoughts about each of the work-out dvds I’ve been using to lose my flab & tighten my tushy…

All from Davina McCall (& her trainers Jackie & Mark Wren) these four dvds are whipping me back into shape. Here’s the why’s & how’s:

baby weight be gone: more motivation please

February 7, 2012

I don’t know if it’s the sudden (& extremely late) appearance of frozen snowy weather, insanely busy work schedule or simple laziness but my getupandgo workout attitude has taken a super nose dive…I’m still exercising daily but it’s a real pain in the arsch to get myself going…this is just a normal hiccup in the work-out-baby-weight-loss journey…right?

Fingers crossed for a more positive diary post next week or better yet why not join me? Let’s motivate each other!

baby weight be gone: a great first month!

January 30, 2012

I can’t believe how quickly 4 weeks have flown by! There were days I thought I couldn’t muster enough energy to even start a workout let alone finish 30 musclepoundingminutes but a quick look at my rear end in the mirror always managed to push me over the icantdoitanymore hurdle. In just 4 short weeks of daily 30 – 60 minute workouts & healthier eating habits I’ve lost centimeters on every part of my body (except my massive nursing mammaries…argh!), have built noticeable muscle tone, am more energetic, have moved up an entire notch on my belt & feel so much better about myself! – mirrors are slowly but surely becoming my friends again.

Just like the scans of my baby, photographing my daily food intake and workout really helps put the quest to banish my baby weight into perspective. It took 9 months to gain that flabby excess baggage so I’m  giving myself that long to lose it again – a realistic goal I hope to beat!

baby weight be gone: feel the burn!

January 23, 2012

Another week of workouts has past and I’m feeling fantastic! It’s amazing how quickly my muscles are toning up! Just a few weeks ago the 40+ stairs up to (& down from) our flat had me huffing ‘n’ puffing, especially when carrying a load of shopping…but now I can wear our lil’ (11kg!) girlie in her Cybex 2.Go carrier & haul a load of groceries up the stairs without breaking a sweat! I really look forward to my daily sweatsoakedbodypummelingtime. Pushing myself through the ‘burn’ is (surprisingly) very relaxing. For that hour per day all of my stress disappears and (after a destickifying shower) I have loads of energy to continue raising/entertaining the kid (& the hubs!), running the businesses, designing new creations, keeping the house (& my sanity) stylishly intact…

baby weight be gone: the saga continues

January 16, 2012

After a relatively easy first week with the post pregnancy workout I thought I’d step it up (by a million!) and switch to the Power of 3 & Three 30 minute workouts – my thighs & bottom screamed at me for the first 3 days but have now grudgingly accepted that I’m not gonna give in to the pain & stiffness and will continue blasting ‘em daily!

I ate well within healthy calorie limits (thanks in part to mom’s recipes) and after a mere 2 weeks am actually fitting into my jeans better! hooray!

Tune in next week for another thrilling diary post or better yet why not join me?

Baby weight be gone: The beginning

January 9, 2012

My little munchkin is now 9 months old and is the roly-poly light of my existence. MY roly-poly-after-preggie body is the embarrassment of my existence. Her pudgy arms, buddha belly & chubby legs make her adorably squeezable. MY pudgy arms, buddha belly & chubby legs make me loath cameras & reflective surfaces. It’s time to banish the remaining blubber before it morphs from “a lil’ extra baby weight” into a full blown flabalanch!

See that?  2 versions of me, in the exact same outfit…

Before: lovely & slim and After: I don’t even wanna look

Here’s how I plan to (hopefully) transform back into the before version…
