A Telescopic Lash Explosion?

January 15, 2012

Freebies are awesome! I signed up for Loreal’s Absolutely VIP (strictly to score some discounts on my current hair colour of choice) and was sent a full sized tube of Telescopic Explosion Mascara.

This little tube sells for about €12 (in store) & promises “A spectacular fanned-out effect, for voluminous and beautifully lengthened looking lashes.”  Let’s give it a whirl…

Thinning on top? Get Blading!

January 5, 2012

This one’s for the dudes…

Is your hairline escaping from your forehead? Are you tired of people snickering at your ridiculous comb over? (seriously…you’re not fooling anyone) Then it’s time to finally get rid of your sparse wisps & embrace your baldness! (& it’s waaaaaay sexier than an insanely low side-part)

My hubs has been shaving his head since 2004 & although he’s tried every fuzz slicing product available he’s never been truly happy with his hairless melon until now…

Santa brought him a Head Blade Sport & triple blade razors

Manucure française à la maison? Mais oui!

January 5, 2012

The clean & natural look of a french manicure in about 20 minutes for under 3€?

As it was a mere €2.25 I happily chucked the essence french manicure set into my shopping basket & after a couple of weeks finally managed to find a spare 20 minutes to try it out…

8 days of perfect polish?

November 21, 2011

dm’s P2 Last Forever nail polish promises “8 Tage Halt” (8 days hold) and at a mere €1.75 per 10ml bottle I figured I’d give it try…

The funky mahogany red of ‘Live the moment‘ (number 051) caught my eye & the test was on…

a few of my favourite things

October 28, 2011

With snow, chestnuts-roasting-on-an-open-fire & sleigh bells just around the corner, I thought I’d mention a few of my fave products…use ‘em for looking (& smelling) gorgeous during the festive season or perhaps as some groovy stocking stuffer (or gift basket) ideas…

Clinique Black Honey…is it really flattering for all?

October 22, 2011

I’ve been looking for an everyday lipstick for awhile & after reading about the virtues of Clinique’s Black Honey Almost Lipstick decided to give it try…

I’m a bit of a cheapbastard when it comes to…well, anything really…so naturally I searched for the best deal I could find. In store this almost lipstick goes for €26.50…eek! Having never spent more than a fiver on lip colour I knew with a bit of perserverance I could get it for a (bit of a) steal…and I did, saving over €10, from the Netherlands! €15.99 (including shipping) is still a pretty penny for a little tube of lipstick, was it worth it?

e.l.f Cosmetics…more than a cute name?

September 27, 2011

I am not a make-up queen but I usually don’t leave the house without slapping on the basics -  concealer, powder, mascara & a bit o’ lipgloss. When it comes to cosmetics I firmly believe that less is more & reasonably priced (erm…cheap) doesn’t have to mean crappy quality. After reading about the bargain yet brilliant e.l.f cosmetics on the groovilicious Hot Ink I knew I had to try them out for myself. Luckily the company has made it over to Europe & even has an online shop for Germany. I ordered on a Friday & had my fancy new facepaint on Monday! *deliveries are fantastically fast in Germany

My purchases arrived safely packaged and included a sweet treat – which my husband promptly commandeered as his own.

The cost of the 11 products I ordered, including delivery, was €23.41 – pretty awesome but were they worth even that? Let’s find out…

UltraLift or UltraWasteofmoney?

September 20, 2011

As I edge ever closer to the big 4-0 previously dormant parts of my brain begin to think that all of the anti-aging ads I see just may not be as full of sh*t as I once thought. Such was my mind one fateful afternoon as I popped out to the shop to buy diapers for our little Hosenpuper….this was eye-catchingly on sale:

…naturally the evilterrifiedofwrinkles part of my brain took over, grabbed a tube & snuck it in with my other purchases…. Read the rest of this entry ?

Clear(er) skin overnight? Possibly….

August 3, 2011

When you’re in your teens you think your pimple problems will end in your 20′s…then, when you’re in your 20′s you think pimples will be abolished by your 30′s…right? Unfortunately pimples are fact of life at any age, especially during those irksome hormonal times.

I discovered Synergen Anti-Pickel-Patches when I was pregnant. (Pickel = pimple in German – I’m sure there’s a sausage & pickle joke there somewhere…) The sticky little disc claims to help rid your skin of pesky blemishes in a mere 8 – 10 hours…

These little magic circles actually work! I’ll admit I never get very large pimples or have had bad acne but for my little hormonal break-outs these patches are fantastic! At €1.99 for a package (36 patches) they’re also a great bargain and as they don’t expire a package lasts a long time! Gotta love German Hygenic-Technologieneuerung (hygenic-technology-innovations)!
